Getting Traffic To Your Site

Write down and plan the methods you are going to use to drive traffic to your website: Pay-Per-Click, Squidoo and Hubpages, article marketing, social networking and the like. Then schedule when you will be posting to your site, and posting to social networking sites.

In the end, if you follow this entire checklist and don’t give up, you will begin to see sales for the products that you are promoting.

You can also add more products over time to promote, build more than one website, put up Squidoo and Hubpages highlighting your various products and services and add things like Adsense to further monetize your site.

Good lucky with your affiliate success,

Getting Traffic To Your Site

Video Promotion

While most people will tell you to use pay-per-click advertising, article marketing and building a website, here’s a shortcut method to get your started and quickly. Videos can get you into search engines fast.

Use one of these tools to get started:

  Camtasia Studio has a 30 day free trial.

  CamStudio which is free and located at http://camstudio.org

  Jing that works on the Mac or PC.

 Web Cam.

 Sony Movie Studio.

  Movie Studio 9.

Now that you have a selection of products, a website or direct links to a vendor’s website, it’s time to promote. First, you will want to get into the video arena.

I know you probably weren’t expecting that. But, people are video junkies, and if you want to get people engaged, you will need to go where the traffic goes.

Creating videos is one sure-fire way to get traffic to your site. Creating a video is not as hard as you think. It’s easy and fun, and will get you into the Working with Camtasia can be a little daunting, but it will pay for itself in spades if you take the time to learn how to use it.

If you need to go free Jing is the second easiest way to record from screen to video. If you’re good with PowerPoint, you can create a slide show, narrate it about your site and simply read from a script. These are the easiest type of video to create, and when used correctly, they are traffic bringers.

Set your monitor resolution to 800 x 600 for recording. Record your videos at 800 x 600, resized to 480 x 360 with Smart Focus. You want them to be quick, and talk about the product you are promoting.

The bottom third is very important in videos. You want to tell them about your domain name or the domain of the affiliate site. If you don’t have a site of your own, go to Snip Url where you can put in your affiliate link and it will give you an output.

For instance, if your affiliate product is for Maverick Money Makers, and your affiliate link is -

http://XXXXX.PUBLISHER.hop.clickbank.net, your Snip Url will be www.snipurl/MaverickMoney.

The Snip URL can go in the lower left part of your video, and remain there for the duration. As you talk about your website, all you need to do is use Snag. It to capture pictures, which you put in your PowerPoint presentation and capture as video.

Add a couple of transitions, and you are in the video arena. These short video reviews are what you upload to all of the video sites.

Things to remember:

 Make sure that the name of the video is your long tail key phrase or product name plus a word like deals. (ie. Salmon deals, Rolex watch deals).

 Make sure that the keywords and key phrases are submitted and enclosed in quotes as well as without quotes.

 Make sure that you submit them with the URL leading back to your website.

 In the information section, be sure and put your website, or Snip URL if you don’t have a website that leads back to the affiliate product.

Pay-Per-Click Advertising

If you don’t have a website, landing page or place to send prospective traffic, pay per click or PPC advertising is an excellent method to drive sales via your affiliate link.

Again, you will want to use discretion so that you don’t wind up losing more money than you gain in sales.

The largest PPC outfit is Google. Those little advertisements that you see on people’s websites, plus on the side of the search results are called PPC advertising.

Advertisers pay a set amount per click in order to appear on sites. It is considered contextual advertising, because the advertising is related to the information being presented either in the search results or on the website. For instance, you won’t get an advertisement for ice cream on a site about auto parts.

AdWords & Contextual Advertising

Advertising with Google is easy and deceptive to newcomers. Easy, in the fact that it is very easy to use; deceptive because if you aren’t very careful you could lose a lot of money trying to get advertising that makes you money.

How To Get Traffic To Your Squeeze Page

One of the most difficult tasks you have left to master in this system is to drive traffic to your site, targeted traffic, actually. You can have gorgeous websites offering fantastic products and bonuses, content-rich resources for download and squeeze pages to die for, and it will all be a waste of time if no one can find your pages.

Another problem with traffic is that it has to be focused, targeted traffic that wants to know about your products. Hundreds of visitors that don't care about your products will just clog up your bandwidth and do nothing for your sales.

For example, targeted traffic from a social bookmarking site can send thousands of visitors to your site without generating one sale.

The process that remedies your traffic problems is called Search Engine Optimization, or SEO. Using keywords related to your site is one way and has been discussed several chapters above this one, but two points deserve another mention. Make all your pages focus specifically on one keyword that relates to your chosen niche. Use your keyword in your header, if you can, and title tags.

What you want is targeted traffic that increases over time. One way to get that effect is to get other website owners with related products or information to link to your pages or blogs. One-way links are the most valuable when search engines index your pages.

Remember all the discussion on building relationship several chapters back? Another good option for generating traffic is to solicit joint ventures with other marketers. This human connection should not be taken lightly. The personal side of selling products, watching your bank account grow and creating new products has some serious benefits to your reputation.

First, making real, human connections with other marketers with similar interests automatically uncovers possible targets to approach for joint venture that would benefit both of you. Traffic can be quickly increased with the marketing efforts of your joint venture "partners" as they send possible customers directly to you for sales.

If you are the one requesting the joint venture, make sure you make the terms easy and as beneficial to your prospects as you can make it and not lose money. The incentives for helping you have to be valuable and offer a real possibility for the list owner to make money, too.

Blog and forum posting will help drive traffic to your squeeze pages. There is a definite procedure to make this process work, however, and not following it will get you banned from the forum. Never, Never spam the forum or blog.

First you have to become a trusted and recognized member of the forum by answering questions, posting resources and becoming an expert in your niche. After a few weeks, put a link to your squeeze page in your signature. Other forum members will follow it to see what you are doing.

These last elements will generate traffic for you, but they will probably be a little slower than some of the more dramatic techniques discussed in this report. The benefit to you is that the traffic will be targeted and mostly willing to buy your products.

In My Other Posts I have give you lot of information how to get paid and unpaid traffic.

Driving Traffic To Your Blog

Okay, so you've got your blog up and running and ready to make money! Now how do you get people to read this thing?!

Here is a brief overview of some of the things you can do to drive traffic to your blog.

Social Bookmarking

Social bookmarking is a way for web browsers to organize and share their bookmarks with each other. When a blog is bookmarked, it is referenced by a popular website, which increases its visibility on Google and also its exposure to web traffic.

Websites such as Socialmarker and Onlywire allow you to bookmark your blog to multiple bookmarking sites with relative ease. There are also programs like Socialbot that will automatically bookmark your site for you, without any effort on your part.

Article Marketing

A great way to drive traffic is to write articles related to your niche and submit them to article directories. Some of these directories include Ezinearticles, GoArticles, and ArticlesBase.

These websites receive thousands or even millions of visitors per month, and every article you write allows you to take a small chunk of that traffic and drive it to your website.

In order to be successful with article marketing, you need to submit lots of articles, preferably on a regular basis. Some bloggers drive their traffic SOLELY from article marketing.

Of course, it does require a bit of work. Some bloggers find it exhausting, after updating their websites with fresh content, to go back and write a bunch of unique articles on the same topic.

Forum Marketing

Forum marketing is one of the most effective ways of driving traffic to your blog. Register at forums related to your niche and put a link to your blog in your signature.

Post regularly and become known on the forums as an “authority” in your niche – someone who knows what they're talking about. People will naturally be drawn to the link in your signature because they'll want to learn more about you.

Don't actively promote your website in your posts and definitely do NOT SPAM. Just write intelligent, concise posts on a regular basis and soon you'll begin to notice an increase in traffic to your blog.

Guest Blogging

You can benefit from another blog's traffic by becoming a guest blogger. Many popular bloggers have used this method to drive traffic to their own blogs.

It's highly effective for bloggers who wish to rise from obscurity in the blogosphere.

Basically, you write a blog entry for another blog in your niche – preferably one that gets a lot of traffic. If your blog post is interesting and well-written, naturally readers will follow the link to your own blog to check out more of your stuff.

Organic Search Engine Traffic

One of the best ways of driving traffic is by ranking organically in Google. This is where the keyword research and competition analysis discussed earlier in the eBook comes into play.

Your blog should be properly optimized for your keywords (preferably, your keyword should appear in the URL, in the title, and around 2% density in your blog posts-- bolded or italicized).

In order to rank for these keyword phrases, you'll need to build backlinks. A backlink is an incoming link to your website. The more backlinks to your site, the more important it appears to Google and the higher it'll rank in the SERPS. It's particularly important to gain backlinks with your keyword as the anchor text.

You can gain backlinks by writing articles, posting on forums, commenting on other blogs, and using the various backlink “packages” that are available for purchase.

The higher the site's PR (Page Rank), the more weight your backlink will hold in Google's eyes. So try to concentrate on getting high PR backlinks.

If you conducted proper competition analysis, ranking on Google for your keyword(s) should be a fairly manageable (although time-consuming) task. However, if you chose keywords that are too competitive, you'll probably have trouble getting anywhere near the first page of Google.

This is why keyword research is so important for niche bloggers.

In Closing...

You should now have a good general idea of what it takes to be a successful blogger. You should have enough knowledge to get your first blog off the ground and making money in a short amount of time.

This guide only skims the surface, but your knowledge and expertise will grow the longer you work on your blogs. You can read as many guides and ebooks as you want, but that alone won't be enough to make you any money. Only through taking action and learning by trial and error will you be able to become a truly successful blogger.
